FUND-RAISERS have hailed a charity drive a “huge success”.

The event at The Cliff pub, in Roker, Sunderland, raised £750 for St Benedict’s Hospice through a series of collections and activities.

The amount was matched by a donation from Barclays Bank.

Keith Steele helped organise the event, which included live music, competitions and children’s games, on June 4.

“We had a really good response from people,” he said. “Local businesses donated a range of raffle prizes and people were really generous.

“We want to thank everyone who supported us.”
