AWARD-winning rock blues singer Chantel McGregor will play in Durham.
Chantel was recently awarded Female Vocalist of The Year at the British Blues Awards.
The Yorkshire-born singer will play the Gala Theatre in Durham on September 28.
Last year was a busy one for the musician who released her debut album Like No Other and won Young Musician of the Year.
At the age of eight, Chantel became the youngest person in the country to pass a rock school exam and at 12, she was jamming in her native Bradford.
Chantel said: “Playing live to great audiences is one of the most wonderful feelings. I feel so lucky to be able to do something that I love, see the world and bring happiness to others through my music.”
The singer, who graduated from Leeds College of Music, writes all of her own music.
She said: “I really enjoy creating my own songs. It’s a fantastic way of being able to say what I wouldn’t normally say in everyday life and getting my feelings out.
“Writing for me is very therapeutic.”
