The Queen turned 90 on April 21, but Saturday, June 11 will see the official day of celebration.

The shopping centre, in Yoden Way, will have a variety of activities for all the family on offer between 10am and 3pm.

Little princes and princesses will be able to make their own crowns and tiaras using paints, glitter and gems at the Jubilant Jewels Craft Workshop.

All materials and guidance from supervisors will be provided on the day.

Shoppers will also be able to pose for their very own sovereign selfies on a luxurious throne, next to a life-size cut out of the Queen.

The patriotic pictures will be posted on Castle Dene’s Facebook page where followers can vote for their favourite to win £90 to spend at the centre.

Stores within the centres will also be giving away prizes every 90 minutes.

The shopping centre is also hosting a street party fit for a queen, that will include live entertainment, games, stalls, charity fundraising and more. Castle Dene is currently on the search for local musicians to perform British classics at the party.

Matthew Middleton, from the centre, said: “Our Queen’s 90th Birthday event is the perfect opportunity for local residents to celebrate everything the Queen has done for the country over the last 63 years.

“But we’re also keen for our event to be community spirited, hence our search for musicians in the local area.”
