POLICE have issues a fresh appeal over an attack on a 15-year-old boy.

Officers have rereleased CCTV images of three men they need to speak to after the assault in East Boldon.

The attack happened at around 8.40pm on Sunday September 8 on Station Road near East Boldon Metro station.

He sustained serious facial injuries as a result of the attack and was taken to South Tyneside General Hospital before being transferred to the RVI for treatment to a broken jaw.

The teenager left the Metro at East Boldon station and officers believe he may have been followed by three men who got off at the same station.

It’s believed the three then got back on the Metro following the assault and then got off at Seaburn at 9.10pm, and it’s believed they may live in that area.

Officers want to identify and speak to the men in the images who may have information to assist the investigation.

They got onto the Metro at West Jesmond around 7.40pm and are described as having spoken in Eastern European accents.

Enquiries into the assault are ongoing and anyone who recognises the men, or who has any information, is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
