CCTV appeal after attempted robbery at North East bookie

Police have appealed for help after an attempted robbery at a North East bookmaker.

At 9:30pm on Saturday, November 19, a man entered the Ladbrokes betting shop in Fewster Square, Leam Lane, and threatened staff with a knifed demanding money.

The man was refused and left the store empty handed. No one was injured during the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing and detectives have released a CCTV image of a man who was seen in the area at the time of the incident and who might be able to help with the investigation.
