MEET Tickles, Sunderland’s saddest cat.
This unhappy chap was left dumped outside a vet’s practice.
The unwanted pet was discovered in a cat box with a handwritten note that simply said “Tickles”.
He was taken in by caring staff at Simply Cats in Fence Houses who have been providing him with a little TLC.
Vets at the centre checked over the black and white tom-cat, who is about two years old and, thankfully, fighting fit.
Now they are searching for a new home for the friendly moggy.
Receptionist Caroline Pallister said: “He was discovered by a member of the public on their way to the local shop.
“He was in a cat box with a handwritten note giving his name of Tickles and left by the side entrance to the surgery in the rain.
“It’s such a shame that no one rang the surgery prior to doing this, as we have various numbers of local rescues who will usually help.
“Going through the proper channels enables rescues to find the most appropriate home for little cats, such as this one, as you can discuss their history and whether they don’t mind living with other species.”
Mr Tickles will be neutered before moving to his new home.
Anyone who is interested should message the surgery via its Facebook page SimplyCats Vets, or telephone 385 9696
