WEARSIDERS have just days left to get their raffle tickets for a chance to win a new car.
One lucky winner will be handed the keys to a Citroen C1, donated by Town Centre Citroen (TCC), with funds raised from the draw going to Grace House Hospice.
Hospice volunteers were selling tickets outside Debenhams, in The Bridges, on Saturday, but time is running out to get them ahead of Friday’s draw.
Grace House fund-raiser Karen Maclennan said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who has bought a ticket. Every £1 will go straight into our fund for specialist staff and running costs so we can open the doors to this fantastic new facility.
“Next year is going to be the most important year ever for Grace House as our dream of a purpose-built and wonderfully equipped children’s hospice is realised and we make a home from home for our first visitors.
“To make this happen we need to work even harder to raise the funds to pay nurses, specialist staff and the supporting clinical team who will operate the hospice as it grows.
“We are extremely grateful to The Bridges for allowing us to bring the car inside and Town Centre Citroen for donating the Citroen C1 for us to raffle. Good luck to everyone who has bought a ticket.”
The hospice, set to open early next year, is hoping to raise more than £10,000 from the car raffle.
TCC finance director Chris Sopp said: “We’ve been excited for this day for over 12 months now. People always think it won’t be them, but someone will be a winner on Friday, December 21, and we can’t wait to witness it. TCC are delighted to have been in a position to raise money for Grace House and will continue to support them into 2013.”
Tickets for the draw are available by calling Grace House on 525 2885, at Grace House, Bardolph Drive, Southwick, from Town Centre Citroen, Ferryboat Lane or Sun FM.
Entries must be received by Thursday for the draw which will take place at Grace House on Friday.
