
The collision took place on the Queen Alexandra Bridge shortly after 2.30pm.
No injuries were reported.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “At about 2.43pm this afternoon, police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision near the Queen Alexandra Bridge, in Sunderland.
“Officers attended the scene.
