Car fire closes northbound A1
A car fire is causing delays on one of the region's busiest roads.
Two lanes of the northbound carriageway of the A1 Western Bypass at Bowes Incline are closed.
All three were initally shut.
Fire crews from Birtley and Washington have been called to the scene and Northumbria Police are in attendance.
