Car and lorry smash causes A19 tailbacks at Seaham

One lane is closed northbound between the A182 junction and the A1018, following the crash, which was reported at 10.20am

A Durham Police spokesman said a Mini Cooper appears to have gone into the back of a truck at the the Murton turn off.

The outside lane has been closed while the central reservation is examined, and is expected to reopen in the next couple of hours, officers said.

The smash is described as damage only, with no reported injuries.
