A HOSPICE is calling for fund-raisers to return sponsorship money for two of its big summer events.
Walkers at the St Cuthbert’s Hospice Pie and a Pint and Midnight Walk events pledged around £70,000, but to date not all of the cash has been donated.
Laura Barker, hospice event coordinator, said: “I’d like to urge anyone who hasn’t handed in their money to please do so as soon as possible so that we can help as many people with life-limiting illnesses as possible.”
The hospice must raise £1.2million each year, relying heavily on events like Pie and a Pint and Midnight Walk to do so.
About 1,000 people access the Durham-based hospice’s care services on an annual basis and all services are provided free of charge.
To return sponsorship money, visit phone Laura Barker on 386 1170 or visit the hospice at Merryoaks.
