Workers cooperatives get support

Have your say

FREE events aim to celebrate North East co-operative businesses.

They will offer members the chance to meet, network and find out more about support available to co-ops.

They are being organised by Co-operatives North East to mark the International Year of Co-operatives (IYC).

The United Nations has designated 2012 as IYC, in recognition of the economic and social role co-operatives play.

This month and next, more than 500 co-operatives in the North East are invited to meet others, share ideas and discover more about the wider co-operative movement.

One event is from 10am to 1pm on April 28, at Chester-le-Street Cricket Club, Ropery Lane.

The events are aimed at co-operatives, but anyone interested in the sector can attend.
