SUNDERLAND students can shop ‘til they drop with the return of The Bridges’ lock-in night.

The centre has joined forces with Total Students and city events company Route 69 to organise an evening of shopping, exclusive offers and music.

The centre will reopen exclusively after hours from 6.30pm-10pm on Tuesday, September 30, when thousands of students from across the city will be able to take advantage of a host of one-night-only offers and discounts.

Top retailers including H&M, Topshop, Tucci, New Look, Krispy Kreme, Schuh, USC, BANK and Debenhams will be offering up to 20 per cent.

Centre director Andy Bradley said previous lock-ins had been a huge hit with the city’s student population.

“Student Lock-In is always a huge event for us,” he said. “Last year saw us welcome 9,645 students through the door to take advantage of the fantastic offers and discounts.

“We’re expecting this year’s event to be our biggest yet, with loads going on for students to enjoy, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming them to the centre, so they can indulge in some serious retail therapy here at The Bridges.”

The centre has also teamed up with music venue Independent to secure a selection of the best local musical talent for the event, who will be busking on the malls throughout the Student Lock-In.

Students can pre-register for the event at to reserve a wristband, which they will need to enter. More information is available at the Customer Service Desk in Central Square in the Bridges.
