A WEARSIDE accountant is spearheading a campaign to help start-up businesses in the North East.
The campaign, which offers free financial consultations, is being backed by the Tyne and Wear Society of Chartered Accountants.
Recently-appointed honorary secretary, Laura Lockhart, a chartered accountant with Sunderland-based TTR Barnes, said: “At a time of fragile recovery of the economy, there is a clear need for expert business advice that will help small and medium enterprises and start-up businesses thrive.
“Chartered accountants, as financial experts with knowledge, initiative and judgement that can be trusted, are ideally placed to offer this advice.
Legally, anyone can call themselves an accountant. However, the title chartered is internationally recognised and demonstrates the highest standards.
“A chartered accountant can help you start up or run a business with confidence,” added Ms Lockhart.
