RELATIVES of a man who died from asbestos-related cancer are trying to find people who worked with him.

Former employees of J Nimmo & Sons, Castle Eden Brewery, are wanted to help find the company which provided employer’s liability insurance in the 1950s and 60s.

The appeal has been made by Keith Teasdale, whose dad Bert worked as a painter and decorator and property manager at the brewery and who died from lung cancer, aged 78.

“My father was a very fit and active man for his age,” said Keith.

“I watched him die from this terrible disease. My father died before his time.

The family has sought legal advice from specialist solicitors at Manchester-based Pannone.
