DISCOUNT retailer Aldi is serving up new jobs in Peterlee.
The posts are among up to 120 positions the company is creating in its existing and new stores across the North East throughout 2015.
As well as the Bede Way store, it will also create new posts in Seaham and at two branches in Hartlepool.
Steve Barnett, Aldi’s Regional Managing Director, said the firm had identified the North East as a crucial area for expansion.
“The North East is a key area of growth for us, and our recent expansion has created an immediate requirement for additional store staff within our existing and forthcoming stores.
He added that the posts would be suitable for applicants with a wide range of experience
“We are looking to attract applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds, including supermarket, fast-food and clothing chains, who can demonstrate relevant retail experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment,” he said.
Aldi is looking for around 40 store assistants and 70 stock assistants, as well as five deputy store managers in the County Durham and Northumberland areas, to support its network of existing stores, as well as a brand new branch in Alnwick, which is set to open later this year.
Full training will be provided over a 12-week period, and stock assistant roles are available from 10 to 30 hours a week.
Salaries start at £7.25 per hour and the company is promising that career progression will be possible.
The firm is also seeking candidates who possess retail or people management experience for its deputy management positions.
Posts are available working between 20 and 30 hours per week, with a starting salary of £9.15 per hour rising to £10.75 per hour, plus £3.95 extra per hour when managing the store.
