A PRINTING firm has expanded into a new site after outgrowing its old premises.

Print by Laser (PBL) has invested in a new warehouse at Angel Park Industrial Estate, Chester-le-Street, a move that hasled to five new full-time jobs and hopes to create at least three more in the next few weeks.

PBL was established 11 years ago and located at Pattinson North Industrial Estate, in Washington,

The firm has expanded from its former 13,500 sq ft premises to a much larger 30,000 sq ft site, to accommodate increased workload and new machines.

Owner Eric Stevenson said: “We have been desperate for larger premises for years – we were bursting out of Pattinson North.

“Since expanding we have been really busy, as we can now take on even more work than before as we now have an extra printing press and more space.”

Mr Stevenson added: “We print leaflets, appointment cards and case folders and other stationery all for the NHS, as well as provide printing services to Communisis and Charterhouse print management companies, Northumbria University and Northumbria Police.”

Part of the major investment includes £1.6million on Heidelberg lithographic presses which will assist with the growing work load of the firm.
