PANTHER Warehousing has delivered about 40 new jobs in Peterlee.

The Midlands-based firm has expanded its operation by opening a new North East distribution centre in the town.

The company, which operates a next-day, two-man delivery service, has invested in a 15,000 sq ft warehouse and around 15 vehicles on the back of a year which has seen it secure a string of new contracts worth £20million.

Managing director Colin McCarthy said: “There is a real need for companies looking for something more than a one-man service, but which doesn’t warrant a two-man facility.

“Our offering will provide companies with a service that will transport a wide range of goods – for examples, doors, large mirrors or pictures.

“Just as Panther is established as a market-leader in next-day, two-man delivery we have invested heavily in the right people and the right equipment to ensure we give our customers the ultimate in a one-and-a-half-man delivery service.

“The new site will also provide us with a better geographic spread helping Panther to better service outlying regions.”

Panther operates out of three sites and employs more than 240 people nationwide.
