New store in Durham for charity

Have your say

A CHARITY has opened its second shop in the same street in Durham City.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is selling furniture and electrical goods in the former Argos store in North Road.

“We have 160 stores selling furniture and electricals nationally,” said area boss David Ayre.

“Some people might not like another charity shop opening, but we are bringing empty premises back into retail use.

“I would like to thank everyone locally who has donated some really good items for us to sell.”

BHF already has a smaller shop in North Road selling clothing, shoes and books.

There is a free collection service for anyone with items to donate, call 0844 848 9624.
