More than 70 companies have signed up for a recruitment fair which highlights graduate talent at the University of Sunderland.
University chiefs say the massive response is partly down to its Sunderland Futures campaign which helps students develop their prospects.
It is also part of The Futures Starts Here project – a new link-up between the university and the Sunderland Echo, to urge more firms to take on students through placements, internships, volunteer opportunities or other chances to enhance their skills.
The Sunderland Futures Graduate Recruitment and Placement Fair is on Friday, November 20, between 10am and 2pm at CitySpace, in the University of Sunderland City Campus, in Chester Road.
A spokesman said: “We’re once again excited to welcome a diverse range of employers to the fair, including large organisations as well as smaller companies, national and international companies as well as local ones.
“The Graduate Recruitment and Placement Fair at Sunderland is an ideal opportunity for employers to target new and recent graduates to fill graduate, placement and internship vacancies.”
This year’s event is sponsored by Enterprise-Rent-a-Car, and Dalton Park have contributed outfits for a fashion show.
During the week of the Fair, the Careers & Employability Service run a variety of preparatory workshops to support students with their preparation and help them impress employer exhibitors.
