A TEAM of engineers displayed courage under-fire, as they swapped the factory floor for the battlefield.
Komatsu UK Ltd sent five employees to try their hand at soldiering on “Exercise Executive Stretch”, pitting their wits against a series of typical challenges and hazards faced by British servicemen and women operating on the frontline.
Trevor Kelly, Davey Newton, Ian Tate, Mark Stephenson and Mark Dawson found themselves thrown into a ‘military’ scenario after volunteering for the exercise, which saw them sleeping in the open air and living off field-rations for two days as they overcame a plethora of challenges.
“It was an amazing experience,” said Trevor. “You believe you would act in a certain way, but when you’re under pressure, in the outdoors and a decision is required quickly, nobody knows how they will react.”
