PROSPECTIVE operators can find out more about opportunities to manage street markets in Seaham and Chester-le-Street.
Durham County Council is seeking expressions of interest from providers, including community groups and specialist market firms.
An information day will be held at County Hall, Durham, on Wednesday, July 31, starting at 9.30am, to give interested parties the chance to speak to council officers.
The move is part of the council’s Revitalising Markets Strategy, approved earlier this year after consultation with market traders and customers.
Joanne Waller, head of environment, health and consumer protection, said: “We want to make it easier for local people to buy fresh, affordable food and to help sustain enterprise and community within our towns.”
