A FOOTBALL coaching business, which supports 30 schools in the North East, is celebrating its 15th year.

Euro-Camps UK was formed by Brendan Sloanes after a 20-year career in coaching which saw him teach former SAFC defender Michael Gray.

Brendan, said: “Football is the national sport of this country and there are superb children who could make excellent footballers.

“You’ll find these kids playing in the backstreets and they are the reason I do what I do.”

Training manager Paul Cairns, from Sunderland, said: “As a volunteer, I was running my own team in the Russell Foster Youth League, as well as being an academy scout for Newcastle United. When I met Brendan it was really mixing work with pleasure.”

Euro-Camps UK is supported by the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC).
