A HI-TECH driver training centre is hitting the fast lane with the installation of two more simulators.
Tadea’s Effective Transport Solutions driver training centre, based at the Future Technology Centre, in Barmston Court, near Nissan, is throwing open its doors to businesses from across the region next week.
The centre already has one of the simulators – housed in BMW Minis and offering a 360-degree, fully-immersed driving experience – as well as a suite of smaller “pod” machines.
It boasts classroom facilities and a team of transport experts delivering courses accredited by training body EAL, including fuel-efficient driving, hazard perception and driving in adverse weather conditions, to help businesses cut costs, reduce emissions and address health and safety responsibilities.
Manager Gordon Pattie said: “We’re delighted that these new simulators are now on-line – especially as we’re moving towards winter and the increased demand for adverse weather training this will bring.
“This expansion will significantly increase the number of people who can benefit from what we’re offering here at Tadea’s Effective Transport Solutions division.
“We can help fleet managers cut costs, boost safety and meet their health and safety obligations.
“Consequently, this is an event which will be of interest to any organisation with a vehicle fleet.”
Training can result in a Level 1 Award in Effective Driving Techniques.
The centre was opened in July by motoring journalist and TV presenter Quentin Willson, who described the service as a “road safety revolution” and stated that the simulators were “the best I’ve ever seen”.
The open event will be held between 9am and 11am on Wednesday, October 22.
