Double Portfolio winner Andrew James is in the running for a national award.
The Bowburn-based on-line retailer, which took the overall Business of the Year title in our awards in 2014 and was named Large Business of the Year at last month’s ceremony, has been short-listed for the Small to Medium-Sized Business of the Year category in the 2015 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards.
The company was set up by cousins Andrew Tomlinson and James Buckle in 2005, when they began by selling niche kitchen appliances.
The winner of the award will be revealed at the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards gala dinner, held on tomorrow at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane.
“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted,” said Andrew.
“It is a real honour to have our achievements recognised at a national level, and is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone a Andrew James.
“It has been a fantastic year for us; we’ve added many new, exciting products to our range, and have invested in developing our people through our in-house Training Academy.
“We also acquired two huge premises which will allow the creation of a new headquarters so we can further expand operations.
"We’re really looking forward to the Award Ceremony. October marked the 10-year anniversary of Andrew James, so winning a National Business Award would certainly be a fantastic way to celebrate!”
Tom Broughton, Programme Director of the National Business Awards added: “The quality and range of this year’s entries exceed even those of last year, which is no mean feat.
"The draw of being involved with the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards has seen companies from all kinds of industries submit applications, which have been narrowed down using our thorough and comprehensive scoring system. We are now looking forward to the next step in the judging process and meeting some of the finalists face-to-face.”
Finalists were chosen from the hundreds of businesses that entered or were nominated across 18 award categories.
