Already a number of students have gone on to gain or are currently awaiting for a place within the Army and Royal Navy.
Fortitude Training, run by Sonia Dutton, started in Sunderland, but has recently set up base in Beach Road, South Shields.
Managing director Mrs Dutton, said: “We have close links with the Army and the Royal Navy and know what they require.
“The course aims to help those interested in a career in the military to prepare them for the assessments they need to pass before they are able to start their basic training.”
The military course, run by ex-soldiers, lasts for 20 weeks and aims to get those hoping for a military career ready both physically and mentally. Those signed onto the course will also take part in a three-day expedition walk in the Lake District.
Fortitude Training was launched in 2014 with Rob Mackins appointed as its operations manager.
As well as the Military Preparation Course, it also offers courses including first aid, working with children, customer service and healthcare.
