TWO of the region’s best-known Olympians will give North East firms their tips for achieving international success at a special event this week.
Organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and Compete North East, the free “Competing for International Contracts: London 2012 and Beyond” will be held at Durham Cricket Club, between 4.30pm and 7pm, on Wednesday.
London 2012 ambassador Steve Cram will host the event and will share the principles of success that also work in all areas of business.
World medallist and Olympic swimming finalist Chris Cook will also be on hand to share his tips and tools for achieving success.
UKTI International trade adviser John Doolan said: “Whether it’s developing infrastructure, procurement, branding, event management, ticketing or security, companies in the North East have the expertise and capability to help deliver world-class sporting events, right from the bidding and planning stages through to delivery and legacy.
“Over the next 10 years, numerous global sporting events will take place that will offer huge business opportunities. UK Trade & Investment can help North East firms break into this potentially lucrative market and I urge companies to come along to this event to learn more.”
The event is free, but places must be booked in advance by calling Karen Lilley on 0191 281 5777 or emailing Karen@btob.co.uk
