A UNIQUE housing development designed by Sunderland architects has scooped another major award.

Craig Fitzakerly and Clinton Mysleyko, of Sunniside-based Fitz Architects, have already won a host of awards for Sinclair Meadows in South Shields, which is the first carbon negative social housing development in the UK.

And now they have added another award to their trophy cabinet when they triumphed in the Best Sustainable Project category in the Local Authority Building Control Northern Building Excellence Awards.

Fitz was also a finalist in the Best Individual Dwelling category.

The firm was nominated for the award by South Tyneside Council, and it now goes forward to the competition’s prestigious national final in London.
