Apprentices get first step on the career ladder

TWO apprentices have been appointed by a construction firm as they make their way in the business world.

Durham-based Esh Group has appointed trainees Hannah Robinson to its marketing team and Kevin McCammon as an IT support technician.

Both will work with colleagues throughout the North East, Yorkshire and Cumbria.

Hannah, a photographer who has worked in customer services and sales since leaving Framwellgate School and Durham Sixth Form College, will continue to complete an NVQ in business administration.

Kevin, a keen footballer and snooker player, will work towards a Level 3 apprenticeship as IT practitioner.

Lisa Stafford, head of business development, said: “We were very impressed with their enthusiasm at interview and the way in which they have both enhanced their education by adding new skills and experiences, sometimes not directly connected with the workplace.

“This made them eye-catching candidates when we received their applications.

“We are very much looking forward to helping them soak up the opportunity of learning lots more in their roles at Esh Group, and we are hoping they will become important and valuable members of the team.”
