A PLANNING committee is due to consider a proposal to build 155 houses as part of the fifth phase of development at Doxford Park.
No letters of representation have been received in response to the planning application, submitted by Gentoo for land south of Mill Hill Road.
Sunderland Council’s Development Control South sub-committee will meet this evening to make a decision regarding the brownfield site, previously home to a 1960s residential development.
The plans involve the construction of 16 two-bed, 26 three-bed, 87 four-bed, and six five-bed homes on the 7.4 hectare site.
The proportion of which will be classed as affordable homes has not yet been determined.
New landscaping and access roads would also be created under the scheme. Some 45 semi-mature trees on the site will be protected.
No recommendation has been made by officers as to whether to approve the application, but it is recommended a contribution be made towards a children’s playspace.
