Bus and car crash blocks lane on busy Sunderland road

A bus and a car have crashed on a busy Sunderland road.

One lane of the A1231 Wessington Way near McDonald's has been blocked following a crash between a bus and a car.

North East Live Traffic have confirmed that the crash took place on the A1231 Wessington Way at around 3pm.

One lane is said to be blocked westbound heading out of Sunderland, adjacent to McDonald's.

The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed that they were not called to the scene.
