POLICE are hoping to trace two men after more than £1,000-worth of cigarettes were stolen during a shop burglary.

Thieves forced their way into the Co-op in Middle Street, Blackhall, and a variety of brands of tobacco were taken.

Police have released these CCTV images of two people they want to speak to as part of their inquiries.

Detective Constable Andy Reynolds, of Peterlee CID, appealed to anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

The incident happened just before midnight on Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 0345 60 60 365 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
