TELEVISION duo Bars and Melody will be performing on Wearside next week.

The young pair, who came third in this year’s finals of Britain’s Got Talent, will be heading to Washington School to perform on Tuesday.

Teenage pair, Charlie Lenehan, 15, and Leondre Devries, 13, were a hit with the audience as well as the judging panel and received Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer vote, which automatically put them through the semi-finals of the show.

Bars and Melody will be taking their anti-bullying message, along with how music can turn your life around in a positive way, to one school in every region of the country.

The 30-minute show at Washington School will be the first performance of the two-week tour.

Nicola Williamson, a member of staff at the Spout Lane school, said: “This is a great opportunity, and we welcome the chance to showcase our school to the region.”

Bars and Melody will release the single Hopeful on July 27.

The single will also feature a brand new track, Shining Star, co-written by the boys themselves.
