Bridges braced for Black Friday bargains
Black Friday comes to town this week.
Stores in Sunderland's Bridges shopping centre are slashing their prices this Friday, November 25.
Black Friday, which started in America, is now one of the biggest events on the retail calendar, offering shoppers the chance to get a huge discount off big brands.
Some of the biggest savings this year are on jewellery, with a number of stores offering special deals.
Pandora has put together an exclusive Black Friday Bundle for £149 (a saving of £51) which will come with a free silver travel case, while Swarovksi is taking 20 per cent off items in store, and H Samuel, is due to announce a deal later in the week.
Debenhams is offering not only half price deals every day this week but an up to half price off items across the entire weekend, along with selling fragrances at VAT free prices on Black Friday itself.
KIKO Cosmetics – one of the centre’s newest additions – is running a buy three, get three free items offer, while The Body Shop will be giving a 40 per cent discount on key items.
Other deals include 20 per cent all adult styles at Clarks, up to a massive 60 per cent off toys at The Entertainer and up to 40 per cent off hundreds of styles at Schuh.
Thorntons is giving a free box of Continental chocolates to anyone spending £30 or more while Supreme Nails is lowering the price of nail extensions to £15, with a selection of money off deals also available at fitness expert, Katie Bulmer Cooke’s pop-up shop.
Centre director Andy Bradley said more discounts were set to be revealed as the week progresses.
"We are still finalising some of the offers and some of our stores want to keep their deals under wraps as late as they can," he explained.
"Some of the stores will have these deals running on Friday only, while others will have offers across the whole weekend, but either way, shoppers can be confident of picking up some incredible bargains.
"We do anticipate Friday to be very busy here at the Bridges but we will be remaining open until 7pm to give people even longer to pick up a Black Friday bargain."
