Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Front Street, Concord, on Tuesday evening (December 1).

A 13-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury and remains in hospital this morning (Wednesday) in a stable condition.

Northumbria Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.

A force spokesperson said: “Shortly before 6.10pm yesterday (Tuesday) we received a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Front Street, Concord.

“Emergency services attended and found a male pedestrian, 13, who had suffered a serious head injury. He was subsequently taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His next of kin have been notified.”
