Bowie one of the greatest

David Bowie was born on Wednesday, January 8, 1947, in Brixton, South London, and he was the greatest British pop star since 1966.

Among his wonderful, greatest hits over the years are Space Oddity, Let’s Dance, Rebel Rebel, Starman, Under Pressure, The Laughing Gnome, Dancing In The Streets, Knock On Wood, Aladdin Sane, Pin Ups, Mars, Diamond Dogs and Heroes.

He signed to RCA and EMI Records.

He also appeared in the movies Virgin Soldiers, Stage, Snowman, Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars, Absolute Beginners and on TV with Parkinson and Top Of The Pops.

David also worked with many other famous stars including Lulu, Kim Novak, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Queen, Mandy Rice Davies, The Who, Bob Harris, Rod Stewart, Bing Crosby and Annie Nightingale.

Sadly, on Sunday, January 10, this year he passed away at the age of 69 in New York City.
