The skies will soon be lighting up for one of the most spectacular nights of the year – but where will you be watching the fireworks?

Christmas will be here before we know it (try as we might to fight it) – but first, let’s get ready for Bonfire Night.

There are loads of displays happening in the North East, so all you have to do now is decide where you will watch the fireworks from.

Take a look at our list of just some of what’s happening and don’t forget to let us know if you have organised an event near you.

COUNTY DURHAM

What: Bonfire and firework spectacular at Beamish Museum

When: Sunday November 1 and Thursday November 5. Museum open from 6pm until 9pm, with bonfire lit at 7pm and fireworks at 7.30pm.

How much: Tickets £5 for adults and children between 3 and 16. Under 3s go free.

What: Stanley Fireworks Festival, Oakies Park, Stanley

When: Sunday November 1, gates open at 5pm, firework display at 7pm.

How much: Free

What: St Cuthbert’s Hospice Family Fireworks Night, Framwellgate School, Durham

When: Saturday November 7 from 6pm. Fireworks are due to start at 8pm.

How much: Adults £5, 15 and under £3 and family ticket (2 Adults, 2 Children) £14.

What: Sparkler Fun at Crook Hall and Gardens, Durham

When: Monday November 2 until Friday November 6 between 3pm and 5pm.

How much: Free access to the maze for every child - and a sparkler for each one too.

GATESHEAD

What: Fireworks at Saltwell Park

When: Thursday November 5, from 5.30pm. Fireworks to start at 7.30pm.

How much: Tickets must be bought in advance at intu Metrocentre, intu Eldon Square, Saltwell Towers and Gateshead Leisure Centre. It costs £2 per wristband.

What: Firework display at Bowes Railway, Sprinwell Road Gateshead

When: Thursday November 5 from 6.30pm.

How much: £3 for adults and £2 for children and concessions.

What: Fireworks at Blaydon RFC

When: Saturday November 7 at 6pm, including fireworks and in-house music.

How much: £5 Adults, £2 children under 16, under 3s free, family tickets £10 (2 adults and 2 children).

What: Firework display at Blackhall Mill Community Association, Riverview, Blackhall Mill, Gateshead

When: Sunday November 8 from 6.15pm.

How much: There is no cost to attend the display, but donations are welcome.

HARTLEPOOL

What: Hartlepool Fireworks and Music Spectacular at Seaton Carew seafront

When: Thursday November 5 from 4pm. The funfair will begin at 4pm, with fireworks from 6.30pm. This year’s event has a pirate theme.

NEWCASTLE

What: Jesmond Fireworks, Newcastle Cricket Club, Osborne Avenue

When: Monday November 2 from 5pm. Fireworks begin at 7pm.

How much: £4 for adults and £2 for children. Little ones under 2 go free.

What: Gosforth Round Table - Bonfire & Fireworks Display, Broadway West Playing Fields, South Gosforth

When: Saturday November 7. The fireworks will start at 7pm, with gates opening at 6.15pm.

How much: £4 for adults and £2 for children.

SOUTH TYNESIDE

What: South Shields & Westoe Club Fireworks /Halloween display

When: Friday October 30. Gates will open at 6pm. Fire dancers will perform at 8.15pm, and fireworks will begin at 8.30pm.

How much: Adults £6, children and pensioners £5, family tickets £20 (two adults, two children), and free for under 5s.

What: Fireworks at South Shields seafront

When: Sunday November 1 from 6.30pm. There will be a small display around 6.30pm, with the main event happening at 8pm.

How much: Free of charge.

SUNDERLAND

What: Ashbrooke Fireworks Display, Ashbrooke Sports Club, West Lawn, Ashbrooke, Sunderland

When: Thursday November 5 from 6pm. The fireworks will start at 7.30pm.

How much: £6

What: Houghton-le-Spring Round Table Fireworks Spectacular, Hetton Lyons Cricket Club

When: Thursday November 5, gates open at 6pm and fireworks start at 7pm.

How much: £3 for adults and £2 for children.
