Blaze at old college site

Have your say

WASTE paper was set alight in part of a disused college building after arsonists forced their way in.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the blaze in the single-storey former mechanics workshop off Burnhope Way, Peterlee, at 6pm yesterday.

The building, replaced with the new campus off Willerby Grove, is to be knocked down to make way for a Tesco and replacement library.
