Blame lies with Tories

Councillor George Howe gave the impression he was somewhat hypocritical when he recently criticised Sunderland Council for reducing funding to Telecare.

He supports Tory Government policy and the keystone to the agenda is austerity.

This barbaric system is the fundamental reason why Telecare lost some of its funding.

Councillor Howe accused the council of taking advantage of the situation.

The only advantage that the council had was the financial ability to fund those in need.

This has been made insufficient by his reprehensible Government.

Councillor Howe never mentioned the council’s excellent record of giving to worthy causes over the years.

Sadly, this sort of funding is now on the ration.

However, before the dark era of cruel cuts Telecare (for example) was run as a free service by the council.

The bad news is this shabby treatment is never ending and the Tories will continue to attack our established values.

Since 2010 the council has suffered a budget reduction of £250million.

Mrs May is still not satisfied and is demanding another £74million by 2020.

It looks like normal service will only be resumed after we wave farewell to this incompetent Government
