Blackburn boss Paul Lambert tight-lipped over loan swoop for Sunderland's Danny Graham

But Rovers boss Paul Lambert is remaining tight-lipped about a move for the forward, who is out of contract at the Stadium of Light in the summer.

Graham started the 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday but is surplus to requirements at Sunderland as boss Sam Allardyce re-shapes his squad.

Lambert, speaking after last night’s FA Cup victory at Newport County, told the Lancashire Telegraph: “Names are getting bandied about but while it’s probably boring for you to write and listen to, we can’t talk about anybody’s players until they come through the door.”

But Lambert did confirm it could be a busy day for Rovers.

He said: “We’ll try and get one or two guys in to help us.

“We’re trying at this moment and hopefully somebody will be in tomorrow.

“Maybe another one but we’ll have to wait and see.”

Championship pair Wolves and Blackburn have both made enquiries with Sunderland for Graham, with the latter in pole position to land the 30-year-old.

As well as fringe players Valentin Roberge and Charis Mavrias, Sunderland are also looking to move on midfielder Jordi Gomez.

The Spaniard was a regular under both Gus Poyet and Dick Advocaat after arriving on a free transfer from Wigan 18 months ago.

But Gomezs only appearance in the last two months was in Boxing Days defeat at Manchester City and he hasnt even been on the bench since then
