Here it is folks - the contenders which are still in the running to become the name of the brand new Tall Ships-themed beer.
Below is the shortlist of entries which made it to the final round of the competition from hundreds of entries submitted to the Sunderland Echo and Sun FM. Now comes the next stage - where you get to choose the winner.
The name which gets the most votes between now and October 25 will be the winner.
And what a prize there is for the person who came up with that outstanding entry.
The winner will receive a tour of Maxim Brewery. They may even get to help out in the brewing of the Tall Ships beer.
The Echo has been joined in the competition by Maxim Brewery (which is producing the new brew), the Sunderland City Council tall ships media team as well as Tall Ships media partners Sun FM, who also encouraged their own followers to nominate.
We raise a glass today to the hundreds of top-class entries which were submitted in the Tall Ships-themed beer-naming competition.
What a response we got when we invited people to come up with a name for a brand new cask ale. It had to have links to the Tall Ships Races which come to Sunderland next year - and ideally, it should have a connection with Sunderland as well.
It was no problem for our excellent readers and Sun FM listeners who sent in suggestions by the boatload. And it’s not just the people of Sunderland who submitted their answers. We have had entries from as far as Galveston in Texas, USA.
Now, we are ready to move on to a new stage of the contest where you get to vote.
