Katherine Hume, from Bishop Auckland, was guest demonstrator at Sunderland Floral Art Club’s September meeting. The title of Katherine’s demonstration was Celebration. The next meeting in The Royalty Theatre, off Chester Road, will be on Tuesday, October 18, at 2pm.Twigs And Twine is the title of the demonstration to begiven by Nicola Davies-Murray, from York. This will be Nicola’s first visit to the club.
Ellen and Pam were helpers on the home bake stall at Sunderland Ladies’ Probus Club’s autumn fair. The event was held to help raise funds for The Great North Air Ambulance.

St Nicholas Church is starting its monthly soup lunches again. The first will be on Saturday, October 22. The cost is £3 per person and includes a choice of soup, bread, homemade cake and tea and coffee. Money raised is for church funds.
Burn Park Methodist Church is the venue for an autumn fair on Saturday, starting at 10am.
Activities and crafts will be taking place at Sunderland Minster from October 24 to 27 from 10am to 1pm, Monday to Thursday of half term week. There will be a small charge for activities.

Binky Buns, the only dedicated rabbit and guinea pig rescue in Sunderland, will be holding a fundraising craft fair on October 29 at St Gabriel’s Church. This will be a community event with a kids’ corner.
