DIY giant B&Q is to shut one of its Sunderland stores.
The branch in Ryhope Road, Leechmere, will close its doors in November, the company has confirmed.
The closure will coincide with the completion of refurbishment works at the company’s larger Trimdon Street branch.
“B&Q proposes to close its smaller store in Ryhope Road, Sunderland, in November,” said a company statement.
“A number of staff at the Ryhope Road store have already transferred to the Trimdon Street store, ready to welcome their customers to the new home improvement store being created at Trimdon Street.”
