AUTHOR Pat Barker is visiting Durham City to discuss her latest novel about artist Henry Tonks.
The talk at the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery has been organised to coincide with an exhibition of Tonks’ work at the same venue.
Tonks created striking portraits of soldiers who underwent facial surgery after being injured during the First World War.
Barker will discuss the role of surgeon and Tonks in the event which takes place tomorrow at 7.30pm.
The author of the best-selling Regeneration Trilogy, Barker first wrote about Tonks in her novel Life Class.
The exhibition of portraits by Henry Tonks, About Face, will be on display at the museum until June 24.
The DLI Museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
