Aspiring Sunderland model staging fashion show for charity

A Wearside modelling hopeful is planning a range of event to raise cash for charity.

Beth Hill, who is one of the finalists in the Top Model of Sunderland this year, is organising a number of events, including a ladies’ night, to raise cash for the Foundation of Light.

The 20-year-old, from Plains Farm, says organising all the events is hard work, but will be worth it.

The mum-of-two, said: “I need help to raise money and awareness for the chosen charity The Foundation of Light. In the run up to the final I will be doing numerous events to raise as much as I can.

“The Foundation of Light has helped a lot of families over the years and uses football to help support, inspire and educate young people in the community and their families.”

Beth has wanted to be a model for a long time and is now concentrating on making that a reality.

The Ladies’ Night will be held in Plain Farms Club on Saturday, March 25, starting at 7pm.

It will include a drink on arrival, naked butlers and party games, as well as Ann Summers sales. Cost is £6 on the door.

Beth is also organising a fun day for children, which will be held on Saturday, April 15, from 1pm to 4pm at Holy Rosary Church hall in Farringdon.

There will be a bouncy castle, slush machine, face painting, raffle, refreshments, arts and crafts, Samson and Delilah SAFC mascots and even a visit from the Easter bunny.

Cost for this will be £3 per child and free for adults.

Along with fellow Top Model of Sunderland contestant, Jodie May, Beth is organising a psychic medium, Karen Dawson, to do readings at Plains Farm Club on Tuesday, April 18. Cost is £10 per person and tickets need to be bought inadvance.

Top Model of Sunderland is a competition which could help an aspiring model on the path to becoming a catwalk success and the final will take place at the Marriott Hotel in Seaburn on May 20.

Last year’s winner was Jade Bambrough, 22, from Thorney Close, who said: “I’ve absolutely loved the past year. It’s opened a lot of doors for me.”

Ailish Shaw, director of Top Model of Sunderland, sais: “This year I’m looking for someone who is dedicated and committed to raising money for charity.”

The finalists will compete in four rounds at the final, in jeans and T-shirt, personal style, evening wear and a round wearing dresses from Sunderland online boutique Brogan’s Closet. Thee overall winner will receive a portfolio with David Miller Photography, a £100 voucher for The Dressworks and other prizes.
