ARTISTIC Fiona Simpson adores her work – and it could lead her to an awards win.
The Sunderland entrepreneur set up ARTventurers four years ago and it is going down an absolute treat as an artistic way for children to have fun at parties with a difference.
ARTventurers is an alternative form of party where children can get as messy as they like while creating pieces of art. Then, while the youngsters have their party food, the ARTventurers team clears up the mess.
The business is so popular it has expanded into South Tyneside, Teesside, Newcastle, Liverpool and Newark.
It has also led to ARTventurers and Fiona being nominated for a What’s On Where award.
Fiona said: “I am really delighted. I love what I do and it never feels like work.”
One nomination for ARTventurers read: “My son has been to several ARTventurers parties as well as weekly classes and events. He loves everything about it.
“He loves being able to move from activity to activity whenever he likes, be creative, make as much mess as he likes and is very proud of the creations he brings home. We have a huge box full!
“I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a young child. It promotes learning through creative fun and play with a huge emphasis on getting as messy as you like.”
Another said: “I’ve been to lots of Fiona’s arty classes for little ones as well as birthday parties she has done, and she is great with the children, keeping them well entertained and enthusiastic about making things.”
Fiona joins an ever-growing list of entrants in this year’s What’s On Where competition but there is plenty of time to put forward your favourites.
The deadline for entries is February 5. After that, the judges will meet to draw up a shortlist from all the contenders.
Then, we will be revealing the winners on February 26 in a glittering finale at The Best Western Roker Hotel.
The awards are held in association with our weekly entertainments guide, Wow 24/7.
