Art with a heart as Sunderland gallery hosts auction for the homeless

Frederick Street Gallery is hosting a one-hour auction of artwork for the cold, hungry and helpless of Sunderland at noon on December 1.

Many artists have already donated all or part of the auction proceeds of their art to the city centre gallery, and others are invited to do the same.

The gallery will forego any commission on sales to ensure 100% of the proceeds go immediately to those they are trying to help.

The public can also donate any art they don’t want, as well as knitted scarves and gloves during November which will be donated to the cause.
