Arson probe launched after skip lorries are burnt out at Sunderland yard

Arsonists are being hunted by police after two skip lorries were found gutted by fire at a yard.

The incident happened around 10pm on Sunday, March 27, at Sunderland Skip Services in Woodbine Street, Hendon.

Northumbria Police said substantial damage was caused to both the skip lorries and compound.

It is believed the lorries were set on fire deliberately and the incident is being treated as arson.

Two men were seen in the area at this time on CCTV and police are appealing to the public for information.
