Armed police in Newcastle street after reports of gunman
Armed police were dispatched to a street in Newcastle after reports of a gunman.
Police were called to Wingrove Gardens, in the city's west end, shortly after 11.30pm on Saturday night after a report that a man in a black car had been seen in possession of a firearm.
A search was carried out although nothing was found.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are in the area today to speak to local residents and carry out further searches.
