A £2,000 reward has been offered to help police find a North East man wanted for a serious assault.

Independent charity Crimestoppers is offering the cash for information on the whereabouts of Gary Skerritt, from Grove Hill, near Middlesbrough.

Skerritt, 32, is wanted in connection with an assault which happened on Sunday, 26 February, and for making threats to kill.

He is believed to have links to the Middlesbrough, Stockton and Darlington areas.

Crimestoppers is offering the reward of up to £2,000 for information which leads to his arrest.

Dave Hunter, head of operations for Crimestoppers, said: “Gary Skerritt has committed a serious assault and made threats to kill, which is why he urgently needs to be found.
